UN probe finds RSF's mass killings in Darfur amount to genocide

A United Nations Fact-Finding Mission has concluded that Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) committed genocide in the city of El-Fasher, North Darfur. The investigation found that the RSF engaged in mass killings, gang rapes, and deliberate starvation as part of a systematic campaign of violence against civilians during and after its siege of the city. These actions were determined to be intentional policies amounting to genocide. The findings build upon a February report that had already identified hallmarks of the crime. The RSF has denied allegations of genocide and other war crimes.
