Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Opens 2026 Law Year in St. Kitts and Nevis

The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) inaugurated its 2026 Law Year on January 12, 2026, with a ceremonial opening in St. Kitts and Nevis. The event commenced with a church service at Wesley Methodist Church in Basseterre, followed by a procession to the S. W. Tapley Seaton Court Annex. Acting Chief Justice Margaret Price-Findlay delivered the feature address from Dominica, emphasizing the judiciary's commitment to independence and public trust. She highlighted ongoing efforts to modernize the delivery of justice, including enhanced judicial training in family law and plans to introduce family courts in certain jurisdictions.
