Seychelles Judiciary Announces 2026 Bar Course Commencement

The Judiciary of Seychelles has announced that the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) for 2026 will commence on March 2, 2026. This course is designed to equip law graduates with the necessary foundation in the Seychelles legal system to prepare for the Bar Examination scheduled for November 2026.

Course Structure and Modules

The BVC will cover eight examinable modules:

  • Civil Code of Seychelles Books II & III
  • Property Law
  • Evidence Law
  • Seychelles Code of Civil Procedure
  • Penal Code & Criminal Procedure
  • Company/Commercial Law
  • Constitutional & Administrative Law
  • Civil Code Book I (Family Law)

Lectures are scheduled from Monday to Friday, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, running for 20 weeks from March to August 2026. The venue for the lectures is the Palais de Justice, Ile du Port.

Application Process

Law graduates holding an LLB. Hons. degree and interested in becoming Attorneys-at-Law are encouraged to apply and register for the BVC with the Registrar of the Supreme Court by February 20, 2026. Applications can be submitted via email to registrar@judiciary.gov.sc, by downloading the application form from the Judiciary's official website, or in person at the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at the Palais de Justice, Ile du Port.
