On February 23, 2026, Air Antilles, placed in receivership earlier in the month, is fighting for its survival before the Pointe-à-Pitre Commercial Court. A single takeover bid is currently under examination, submitted by Guadeloupean entrepreneur Pierre Sainte-Luce. The court is set to deliver its decision on March 5.
The airline's financial troubles intensified after the French Civil Aviation Authority grounded its aircraft on December 9, 2025, citing significant safety deficiencies. This led to a cessation of payments and suspension of operations, prompting the company to file for receivership.
Pierre Sainte-Luce, known for his ventures in the healthcare sector, has proposed injecting €10 million into the company, including an immediate €4 million. His plan aims to address the airline's financial woes and restore operations.
The Pointe-à-Pitre Commercial Court, recognizing the potential for recovery, granted a six-month observation period. The court has requested additional guarantees from Sainte-Luce, particularly concerning financing, fleet management, and employment of the 117 staff members.
If the takeover plan is deemed insufficient, the airline faces potential liquidation. Conversely, a successful bid could revitalize Air Antilles, ensuring continued connectivity within the French Antilles and safeguarding numerous jobs.
