Albania's Constitutional Court Repeals Amendments to Parliamentary Committees

On February 23, 2026, Albania's Constitutional Court accepted a request from one-fifth of the deputies to repeal the Assembly's decision to reduce the number of Parliamentary Committees. The Court found that the amendments violated the principle of representative democracy and the freedom of expression of deputies, due to irregularities in convening the Assembly meeting and the approval procedure.
