Freya Mareels is a partner in the Corporate & Finance group at the firm and co-heads our Antwerp office.Freya specializes in banking and finance law, with a particular focus on leveraged finance and general syndicated loans, real estate finance, project finance, and debt restructuring.She acts on behalf of both lenders and borrowers and has extensive experience in cross-border transactions. Her practice also includes transactions in debt capital markets and structured finance.Freya holds a law degree (magna cum laude) from Ghent University (2005) and an LL.M. from the University of Nottingham (2006). She also studied at Hofstra University (2005) in New York.Before joining Liedekerke, Freya worked for ten years in the Brussels, London, and Amsterdam offices of an international law firm. She joined Liedekerke as a partner in 2016.
