Effective March 1, 2026, Latvia has introduced significant tax and financial reforms. Key changes include a revised procedure for calculating late payment fees, now assessed bi-monthly on the ist and 15th, with specific conditions under which fees are waived. Additionally, the Tax and Customs Police has been established as a separate institution under the Ministry of the Interior, enhancing the efficiency of tax and customs law enforcement. These reforms aim to streamline tax administration and strengthen financial oversight in Latvia.
