Kyrgyzstan to Transition to Digital Governance of Parliament in 2026

On February 28, 2026, Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, Marlen Mamataliev, announced plans for the parliament to fully transition to digital governance within the next one to two months.

This reform will affect all levels of parliamentary work—from drafting legislation to holding committee meetings. Digitalization is also expected to enable citizens to contact members of parliament online, which he described as an important step toward greater transparency.

Special attention in the new configuration will be paid to strengthening ties with Russia. The Speaker confirmed that Russia remains Kyrgyzstan's strategic partner and that inter-parliamentary cooperation will double in 2026.

A key priority will be addressing issues faced by labor migrants. Marlen Mamataliev stressed the need for active engagement with the State Duma on draft laws that directly affect lives of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Russia.
