Swiss Court Restores Libya's Control Over Geneva Property

Libya has achieved a significant legal victory as a Swiss court lifted the seizure order on the 'Libyan Guest House' in Geneva. The case involved a dispute with the communications group Jalouli Telecom – Easy Media, which had sought to claim the property.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that the court ruled in favor of the Libyan state, canceling the seizure order entirely. The decision was based on legal arguments presented by Libya's State Litigation Department in coordination with the ministry.

Additionally, the court ordered the claimant company to bear all legal costs associated with the case and to pay financial compensation to the Libyan state amounting to 33,755 Swiss francs, covering litigation expenses.

The 'Libyan Guest House' is a strategic overseas asset used for official and diplomatic purposes. This ruling not only restores Libya's control over the property but also reinforces the country's efforts to protect its assets abroad.
