Uzbekistan Implements Key Legislative Changes on March 1, 2026

On March 1, 2026, Uzbekistan enacted significant legislative reforms affecting various sectors, including public services, social protection, and environmental policies.

Digitalization of Public Services

The Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services (EPIGU) now allows citizens to update residence information online and obtain death certificates with QR codes, equivalent to notarized versions. Additionally, EPIGU provides preliminary judicial information on civil, administrative, and economic cases.

Social Protection Initiatives

Day-care services have been introduced for individuals with dementia, Parkinson’s, or Alzheimer’s disease under the “Step Towards an Active Life” program. The “Caring Family” service offers free family therapy to parents of children requiring social protection.

Environmental and Licensing Reforms

Enterprises failing to install or integrate background monitoring stations with the National Environmental Monitoring Center face a fivefold increase in compensation payments. The “License” system now includes a voluntary pre-assessment service for compliance with licensing requirements.

These reforms aim to enhance digital governance, social welfare, and environmental accountability in Uzbekistan.
