Norwegian Crown Princess's Son Convicted of Rape

Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of rape and other offenses. The verdict was delivered by the Oslo District Court on June 15, 2026.

The 29-year-old faced a total of 40 charges, including four counts of rape, assault, and violations of restraining orders. He was convicted on 34 counts, including two instances of rape, serious bodily harm, abuse in close relationships, physical assault, threats, sexually offensive behavior, and violations of restraining orders. Høiby was acquitted of two counts of rape and two counts of violating restraining orders.
