Prosecutor Johann Fernandez outlined the case, stating that in December 2024, the defendant allegedly attacked the complainant, leading her to take an overdose. While receiving treatment in the Intensive Therapy Unit, the defendant purportedly assaulted her again. Hospital staff intervened, removing him from the ward and notifying the police.
The complainant began her testimony, indicating that although she had not fully recovered mentally, she felt prepared to proceed with the complaint. She had previously provided statements to the Royal Gibraltar Police regarding the alleged incidents.
