EPA Approves Puerto Rico's Water Program Revision

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the approval of Puerto Rico's revised Public Water System Supervision Program. The Commonwealth has adopted drinking water regulations for the Consumer Confidence Report Rule Revisions, ensuring compliance with federal standards.

The EPA determined that Puerto Rico's updated regulations meet all minimum federal requirements and are no less stringent than corresponding federal regulations. Consequently, the EPA has tentatively approved the territory's program revisions.

Interested parties have the opportunity to request a public hearing regarding this approval. Requests must be received on or before October 9, 2026.
