Doctors' arrest triggers strike and clinic closure in Nyala

The arrest of two doctors in Nyala, South Darfur, has led to the closure of a major medical clinic after staff initiated an open-ended strike in protest. Dr. Ibrahim Tawil, director of Manaa Medical Clinic, and Dr. Mutaz Omar were detained by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) personnel after issuing a medical referral for a critically ill patient to travel to army-controlled areas in central and northern Sudan. The patient was the wife of a former RSF member who had defected. The arrests have disrupted healthcare services, with the clinic's closure increasing pressure on Nyala's already limited medical facilities. The RSF maintains restrictions on civilian travel from areas under its control to territories held by the Sudanese army.
