Chief Justice Introduces Annual Awards for Judicial Integrity

Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr. has announced the introduction of annual performance-based awards for judges and magistrates nationwide, aiming to strengthen accountability and professionalism within Liberia's judiciary.

Speaking at the opening of the June Term of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Civil Law Court in Montserrado County, Chief Justice Gbeisay stated that judicial officers will be assessed on six key metrics: performance, integrity, discipline, punctuality, case management, and accountability.

He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for corruption, urging judges and magistrates to uphold honesty and professionalism. Those who abuse their office for personal gain will face disciplinary action without exception.

This initiative reflects a concerted effort to enhance the credibility and efficiency of Liberia's judicial system.
