Budget 2026 Allocates $100 Million for Rotorua Court Facilities
The New Zealand government has announced a $100 million investment in Rotorua's justice infrastructure as part of Budget 2026. This funding will support the construction of two new courthouses: one for the Rotorua Law Courts, encompassing the High Court, District Court, Coroners Court, and relevant tribunals, and another for the Rotorua Māori Land Court. The initiative aims to provide modern, secure, and efficient facilities to enhance the delivery of justice services in the region. Construction is expected to commence in 2027, with the new facilities operational by mid-2030.
