Botswana and Rwanda Sign Six Bilateral Agreements

Botswana and Rwanda have signed six bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening ties and boosting trade and economic growth. The agreements cover areas such as double taxation avoidance, visa abolition, health, and economic trade and investment. During a joint press briefing in Gaborone, President Duma Boko emphasized the strategic alignment between the two nations and the goal to increase trade and investment. He urged officials to implement the agreements swiftly, noting that the visa abolition agreement takes immediate effect, with Rwanda already implementing it and Botswana following suit. President Paul Kagame highlighted the shared sense of purpose between the countries and commended Botswana's prudent management of its natural resources for the benefit of its people. The two nations maintain a Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation, established in Kigali in April 2019. President Kagame's visit included a tour of the Diamond Trading Company Botswana.
