International Community Reaffirms Commitment to Sudan's Democratic Future

On June 8, 2026, a joint statement was released by the Governments of the United States, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, and organizations including the African Union (AU), the European Union (EU), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the United Nations (UN). The statement reaffirmed their shared and unwavering commitment to the people of Sudan and to a peaceful, democratic, and stable future for the country. It also emphasized support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Sudan. This declaration followed consultations with Sudanese political stakeholders in Addis Ababa from June 3-5, 2026, building upon the Sudan conference held in Berlin on April 15, 2026.
