Trial Against Former Deputy PM Artan Grubi Commences
The trial of former Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi and seven others began on August 24, 2026, at the Skopje Criminal Court. They are accused of corruption involving the public Lottery company, allegedly causing damages of approximately 8 million EUR. The charges include abuse of official position and authority. The case has been assigned to Judge Biljana Suplinovska-Jovevski. Notably, the former director of the State Lottery, Perparim Bajrami, remains at large, while Grubi returned to North Macedonia earlier this year after 14 months abroad.
