NCA Warns Public About Impostors as Five Face Prosecution

The National Construction Authority (NCA) has issued a public warning regarding individuals impersonating its officials, following the prosecution of five suspects at the Kiambu Law Courts. The accused, identified as George Njoroge Njingu, Peter Njoroge Njuguna, Lucas Kungu, Consolata Wairimu Kirika, and Mary Wanjiku Waime, have been charged with impersonation. According to the charge sheet, on October 16, 2025, in Kiambu Township Sub-County, the individuals falsely presented themselves as NCA officials with intent to defraud.

Police records indicate that the suspects were arrested, placed in custody, and later released on bond. The case was initially mentioned on May 20, 2026, and is scheduled for a full hearing on June 9, 2026. The NCA is advocating for severe deterrent action against such fraudulent activities to protect the public and maintain the integrity of the construction industry.

The NCA emphasizes the importance of vigilance among the public to avoid falling victim to such scams. They advise individuals to verify the credentials of anyone claiming to represent the authority and to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities promptly.

This case underscores the ongoing challenges in combating fraud within the construction sector and highlights the necessity for continuous public awareness and stringent enforcement of regulations to deter such deceptive practices.
