Nauru Extends Iruwa Initiative Citizenship Program to December 2026
The Government of Nauru has officially extended The Iruwa Initiative Special Project under the Nauru Economic and Climate Resilience Citizenship Program (ECRCP) until 31 December 2026. This extension allows investors additional time to apply for Nauruan citizenship at a discounted contribution rate. The Iruwa Initiative, introduced to attract foreign investment and support climate resilience efforts, offers a pathway to citizenship through financial contributions. The extension was communicated via an official circular issued by the Nauru Program Office on 15 June 2026, signed by CEO Edward Clark. The discounted contribution structure remains in effect for all applications accepted on or before the new closing date. This move underscores Nauru's commitment to bolstering its economy and addressing climate change challenges through strategic partnerships and investment programs.
