Lamichhane Vows to Clarify 'Policy Decision' Definition

Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has committed to legally defining 'policy decisions' to ensure Cabinet actions can be scrutinized for corruption without hindering legitimate policymaking. This pledge follows discussions with the anti-corruption commissioner, highlighting the need to amend the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Act. The current ambiguity allows routine administrative decisions to be elevated to the Cabinet, potentially shielding them from investigation. Lamichhane emphasized that clarifying this definition is crucial for achieving good governance and development in Nepal.
